Liz & Aaron enter lands near and far (and high and low) to discuss the current slate of GaaS games, and whether or not they could be a fit for you and your gaming friends! There's GaaS games of all shapes, sizes, and flavors now, so rather than examine each one in its own episode our intrepid hosts attempt to dissect the major players in one long episode.

They get to drinkin'. So...look out.

TIMESTAMPS:

  • 0:00 - Raid Boss Kickstarter + Fruit Snack Smack Talk
  • 7:30 - Games As A Service, what are they? What are we playing? What are their characteristics?
  • 13:45 - What is Anthem?
  • 20:20 - What is The Division 2?
  • 23:53 - How much does the setting matter when you're spending dozens of hours in it?
  • 30:00 - Aren't you supposed to play in groups?
  • 33:14 - What makes for a healthy GaaS experience?
  • 41:50 - GaaS games are meant to improve over time.
  • 1:01:05 - Major takeaways? These games will not have the narratives that single-player games do. But how do SP games implement GaaS elements?
  • 1:06:15 - Aaron makes a big prediction about E3 concerning Watch Dogs 3. (And the whiskey is getting to him now.) + Are GaaS games cooperatively pure?
